Text WidgetA text widget is a device that makes it easier to edit lines in an application. (A "widget" is an object that does a specific job in the user interface). User interface design creates and arranges those widgets. Using a text widget saves time because it gives the user more ability to edit lines of text.
Text widgets are classified as complex widgets because they perform a variety of tasks. They are also complex because they can use the mouse to select and manipulate text.
